Poor Growth
Poor growth in children and adolescents can indicate underlying nutritional deficiencies or health issues and may lead to developmental delays. This young person may be experiencing fatigue, mood swings, growth stunting or weight loss, constipation, poor concentration and restricted eating. A dietitian’s role would be assessing and identifying potential causes, working with a multidisciplinary team. We would create a personalised nutrition intervention plan with energy-dense, nutrient-rich foods, and provide education to promote healthy eating practices. This would support the young person’s development and getting back to experiencing life.
